The challenge

KIIT students track attendance, timetables and exams through a university portal that is slow on phones and hard to read at a glance. Falling under the required attendance has real consequences, so students need clear numbers and early warnings, not tables.

What we built

Straight to the source
The app talks to the university portal directly. There's no server in between, so students' logins never pass through anyone else.
Logins locked on the phone
Passwords are encrypted on the device, with the keys kept in the phone's own secure storage.
Works without a signal
Attendance, timetables and exams are saved on the phone, so the app opens instantly, even offline.
One app, two stores
Android and iOS share one codebase, so every feature lands on both at once.
The app on the student’s phone signs in to the university portal directly over HTTPS. The login is encrypted on the device with Google Tink, with keys held in the Android Keystore or iOS Keychain, and data is kept in a local database. There is no intermediary server.

Inside the app

  • GPA calculator
  • Academic calendar and holidays
  • Faculty directory and exam details
